hi there! I'm tyler, and this page is a home for my interests. I like junk journaling in my hobonichi, collecting washi tape and stickers, watching bad movies, and occassionally making art. i would also like to make digestible, easy-to-read educational content about topics i am learning about in school.

about me:

i have a BS in art, and most of my formal training is in ceramics. i also like to draw and paint, but lately have been relaxing by collaging and low-effort sketching in my junk journal.
i am currently pursuing a BS in gender studies + ethnic studies. you may be wondering, "more BS instead of grad school???" it's a long story, but basically i want to pivot to nonprofit work, i enjoy what i am learning about, and i had some surplus credits in the subject area, so i went for it! i would love to pursue graduate school someday, but want to take a few gap years focusing on local change in my community first.
i had a stint in being a tiktok creator for a couple of years, and amassed an okay-sized following (47k). i ended up on libsoftiktok, which was not great, and generally was constantly exhausted and on edge, worrying about upsetting people, being upset at (and paying waaaay too much attention to) online discourse, or ending up on some conservative site somewhere being doxxed. so i quit, made my account private, and only occassionally post when i feel like it. i would love to return to content creation at some point in my life, but not right now. i also regret my attitudes and opinions, general lack of empathy, and hotheadedness, and find my digital footprint embarrassing.
i have four cats (was five, but lucy recently passed at the age of 11 ;_;). stinky is a black kitty (5 y/o), bestie is a tabby with a white tummy and socks (5 y/o), itty bitty is a tabby and is from the same litter as beanie baby (dilute tortie, both are 1 y/o).
i am transgender and love to learn and read about our history!
